Hey, everyone! Today marks the beginning of a new month, which means it’s time for my monthly word count update.

I am happy to report that I hit my overall word count goal of 50k on July 29th with this dialogue that made me laugh as I was writing it (between my main character, Aelenna, and two supporting characters, Kian and Makatza).

I kept pumping out as many words as I could yesterday and today, and although I didn’t get as much as I’d hoped, I managed to bump up my overall word count to 52,029. I started July at 18,518, which means I added 33,511 words this month! I also managed to keep my average daily word count just above 1k, which wasn’t easy this month because I hit a bit of writer’s block. Thankfully, I was able to push through it. However, I’m still not entirely out of the block, so I’m not sure how much I will be able to get done this month. I also may be taking a week off for a vacation. Therefore, I’ve decided to set my August goals to only add 20k words for an overall word count of 72k.
