Hey guys, it’s time again for my monthly update! This month was a bit disappointing, but I’m keeping a positive attitude. So, without further ado, here are my stats.

Word count at the end of July: 52,029

Word count at the end of August: 65,547

Total words added this month: 13,518

Average words per day: ~614 (22 days)

As you can see, I missed my goal of 20k by quite a bit. However, I had an unexpected trip come up and was also dealing with writer’s block, so all in all, I don’t think I did half bad. I would love to finish my first draft by the end of September, which would mean adding about another 25k. To achieve this, I will need to write 833 words a day. While I failed to do that this month, I think it will be doable for September, especially since kiddo is in school, giving me more free time.

On another note, I wanted to mention that on Thursday (9/2/2021), I will be participating in a Twitter event called PitMad and would appreciate any and all retweets or/and comments (No likes–they are for agents and pubs) on my pinned tweets that day between 7am-7pm CST. My handle is @MooreWriting89. I will be pitching Godstones and am fairly certain this is the last event I will be doing with this MS for some time. I’m not giving up on querying Godstones just yet, just giving Twitter pitch events a break. Hopefully, by next year I will be pitching my new MS!
