Monthly Writing Update

Hello everyone! I know I’ve been quiet, but that’s because I’ve been staying busy with revisions on my Dragon WIP (which I still haven’t even thought of a temporary title for, but you will be the first to know when I do, lol).

For anyone wondering how I usually do these revisions, I open Draft 1 and a blank document side by side and rewrite the entire book. I keep what lines I like, remove lines or words I don’t like, and add more detail or move around exposition. After draft 2, I will move on to a quick edit and then send it off for its first read.

As you may remember, I began revising on October 13th. As of October 31st, I have just under 43k in draft 2. That’s an average of around 2k per day (although, actually a little more because I took a few days off for vacation). If I stay at this pace, I should be done by the end of November. When I start draft 3 depends on how long my first beta reader takes to finish reading and giving feedback. It could be as early as some time in December, or it could be a few months. During that time, I’ll probably finish reading GoT Book 2, beta read, or play video games. In other words, do anything but think about my Dragon WIP so that when I get it back, I have fresh eyes.

Wish me luck!

Keep writing,

Allison N Moore
