Allison N. Moore is a stay-at-home mom raised in Oklahoma currently living in Minnesota with her husband, daughter, and cat. She writes primarily adult fantasy and science-fiction short stories and novels, but also dabbles in poetry.
As a former registered Veterinary Technician who has always loved animals and science, she often incorporates them into her worldbuilding. She also likes to include romantic subplots, themes that explore good vs evil, and dashes of humor (typically in the form of banter).
She may look sweet and innocent, but her characters know better. Luckily for them, she’s also a sucker for happy endings… Usually. She’s particularly fond of strong women characters, as well as what she affectionately refers to as dark dangerous dudes (DDDs) who are terrified of falling in love and of losing it when they inevitably do. (This can include heroes with a dark side, morally grey characters, antiheroes, or sometimes sympathetic villains.)
Her short stories “Soar” and “Rrekwe’m of Blood” can be found in the SFF anthology Achten Tan: Land of Dust and Bone (Tales From the Year Between, Volume 1). Her latest short story “Madness” can be found in the second volume of Tales From the Year Between, Under New Suns.
Currently, she is preparing to query her second epic fantasy novel while drafting a paranormal romance. You can read more about these on her Works in Progress page.
Allison can also be found on Goodreads, Amazon, and Twitter.
